The mission of the Peter Yegen, Jr. YELLOWSTONE COUNTY MUSEUM is to collect, preserve, research, and interpret the natural history, history and diverse cultures of the Yellowstone Valley of Montana and the Northern Plains. We share this legacy through a full range of exhibits and educational programs for the enrichment of the cultural and intellectual life of our community. Museum's Focus: Prehistory of the Plains/Montana through to the 1950's. Exhibits/Archives include materials specific to Northern Plains Indian Tribes, western expansion, mining, cattle/sheep herding industries, transportation industries, military (1870-1950's), various medical fields, music, textiles, household goods and personal goods. Museum Hours: Monday - Friday 10:30am - 5:00pm, Saturdays 10:30am - 3:00pm. Open hours for tours outside of regular business hours, call 256-6811 to arrange. Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Day, open other legal holidays. Cost: Free, donations accepted Directions: The museum is located directly South of the Logan
International Airport. To reach the museum, drive into the airport,
past the front of the terminal, around the west parking lots and follow
the road as it curves east. The museum is located just before the airport
